His classical piano studies began at the age of eight, with his education including tutelage by such master teachers as Leon Fleisher, Ellen Mack Senofsky and Vitya Vronsky.

A native Northern Californian, Tim was born in Oakland before moving to Cleveland for his formative years. Seeped in musicianship, he attended the famed Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan, where he graduated from high school. A Rockefeller Foundation Scholarship took him to the Peabody Institute of Music of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, with Tim returning to Cleveland for graduate work at the Cleveland Institute of Music of Case Western Reserve University.

For the past 20 years, Southern California has been homebase for his musical coast-to-coast performance career, with stops including off-Broadway and spanning Baltimore, Cleveland, Phoenix, and San Diego. Now a sought-after teacher of students from 2 to 97, Tim is passing on his musical legacy by inspiring future professionals and music-loving amateurs by offering personal piano instructions.
